Miriam is working abroad from December till beginning of March. Therefor we are looking for somebody who will take care of the mule-donkey Mira. You can live in the little casetta where you have a shower with warm water, toilet, little kitchen with fridge and a sleeping / dining room. Miriam will leave basic food in the house for you. Plus, Miriam pays every month money so that you can go shopping your food in the minimarket of Alicudi, close to the port.
Your work would be:
- Taking care of the mule-donkey Mira.
- Going for a walk with her every day. She needs to get out of her home for at least 2 hours per day
- You can bring her to places where she can be free
- Taking care of her barn, giving her food, cleaning her home
- Check that there is enough hay, bring hay if needed
- Bring some wood if needed
- Taking care that the goats are not coming too close to Pianicello.
- Help out to cut the capers plants - if you wish there are further works on the land
What is important:
- You are able to look after yourself. Alicudi during wintertime might be hard and challenging, there might be storms and wind. You need to be able to be allone, having your own daily routine - resilient
- You have an understanding how to work or treat donkeys, horses or mule-donkeys or mules. Mira might be nervous when the wind is blowing, when the goats are too close. She might challenge you, so you need to be clear with the communication. She might be your mirror, if you are stressed, she will be stressed as well.
- You are reliable and you stick to your word - so do we
